Where are the Ozarks?
The Ozarks, also referred to as the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Highlands, or Ozark Plateau, is a physiographic region located in the central-southern United States. It spans across several states, including Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and a small part in the southeastern corner of Kansas. The region predominantly covers northern Arkansas and southern Missouri, extending from near St. Louis, Missouri, to the Arkansas River. Characterized by its lush forests, diverse waterways, and distinctive geological features, the Ozarks offers a blend of rolling plateaus, mountain ranges, and valleys, with notable areas such as the Boston Mountains and the Springfield Plateau.
